Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free version?
Yes — and it's not time-limited. You can use SpeakSync free for as long as you like, with full voice tracking and every prompter feature, applied to scripts up to 150 words. The bundled sample stories let you try voice tracking on real material straight away. If you outgrow the limits, the Pro subscription unlocks unlimited script length, with a 3-day free trial.
What if my script is longer than 150 words on the free tier?
You can still import or paste it — the file comes in intact and you can read and voice-track the first 150 words for free. Words beyond the 150-word point are greyed out in the editor and aren't played in the prompter until you subscribe. Nothing is lost: subscribe later and the full script is right there waiting.
Can I edit the sample stories on the free tier?
Yes — within reason. You can rewrite up to about 15% of a sample before the paywall asks you to subscribe. The intent is to let you experiment with editing while keeping the samples as a free showcase of what SpeakSync does. If you want to rewrite a sample more heavily, that's what Pro is for. (Or just create a new story — your own scripts up to 150 words are free.)
How does the 3-day Pro trial work?
When you start the Pro trial, you get 3 days of full unlimited access at no charge. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged a penny. Your trial starts when you confirm the subscription in the App Store.
What happens to my Pro content if I cancel?
Your stories are never deleted. Anything you created or unlocked under Pro stays in your library. Once your subscription ends, scripts longer than 150 words will have their tail end greyed out again until you re-subscribe — but the content is preserved exactly as you left it.
Can I switch between Annual and Monthly?
Yes. Go to your device's subscription settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play > Subscriptions on Android). You can change your plan at any time and the new plan will take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Is the Word add-in included with my mobile subscription?
The Word add-in is a separate product available free from Microsoft AppSource. It doesn't require a SpeakSync mobile subscription to use, and your mobile subscription doesn't affect it. They're independent.
Does my subscription work on all my devices?
Yes. Your subscription works across all your devices where you're signed in with the same account (Apple ID on iOS/Mac, Google account on Android).
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?
Open SpeakSync on your new device and tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Your subscription will be recognised automatically if you're signed in with the same account.
